Trying to Lose...

I think I'm going to take the inspiration I'm getting from Kris over at Weird Unsocialized Homeschoolers and start making Wednesday's a weight loss post. I have always struggled with a weight problem. Up, down , up, down. I am, alas, an emotional eater. I always have been.

The past few years I have learned some interesting things about nutrition, eating, and my body in general. This led to some weight being dropped but that changed when I got derailed. I have then spent time trying to research, pray and ask God for guidance on how to get my motivation back.

I have a confession. I have an obsessive (something) about food. I am a Type 2 diabetic so honestly, food makes me guilty, feel bad, worried, stressed etc. I constantly have felt the guilt time and again over eating something or not eating something. I have felt free from that in the past month. I'm relearning ways to eat my favorites without the harmful effects.

This past month I have felt better, gotten that motivation back and have lost a few pounds so far. Here are some of the things I have done:

  • Cut out wheat as much as possible.
  • More veggies and less carbs
  • Tried smoothies and protein shakes
  • Stopped feeling guilt over food
  • Tried new recipes and liked them!!!

This is my goal. Each week I will try and share a new recipe I tried that is Paleo, Diabetic, weight loss friendly. I'll share my ups and downs. I will share my losses and even gains. That's what it's all about right?

While I know I won't be the same if I reach the weight in the picture, (kids sure do change your body shape) this is the healthy range I'm striving for. This was me at my smallest.

And my inspiration/motivation? It's here...

If you'd like to join me on this journey then feel free to post a blog and let me know how you're doing. If you just want to comment here to connect, we can do that too! I want to be an encouragement and soak up that encouragement everywhere I can. Thanks for stopping by!
