One of my favorite commentaries to use while studying is Enduring Word. I've had the app for a few years and always find myself using it when I'm trying to go deeper in a passage or really understand what I'm reading. It has been my go-to for awhile.

What's in the Bible?

This study bible takes an interactive approach to diving deeper into God's word. Throughout the bible, you will find sections called Principles. Each of these are a look deeper into the specific life lesson that God is sharing in that specific passage of scripture. Each principle has notes and questions, but also a scannable QR code for you to interact with that specific passage. The QR code will let you to a video where Dr. Getz is actually teaching that principle. It is a great way to read the Word, hear the Word, and study it all at the same time. For some of us, video or audio make it easier to grasp the concept you're trying to understand. For others, reading it is the best way. This bible offers multiple ways for you to study the scriptures deeper than you may have before. There's also questions in the principles to help you study in your own life or to have for a small group study if you're working with others. 

There are over 1500 different videos that can be used in this study bible for you to interact with. They vary in length, depending on the topic at hand. The reasoning behind putting these principles in the way they are is to help us all apply the scripture to our life every day. Sometimes it can be difficult to understand some of the scriptures and how it actually applies to us. Dr. Getz has come alongside you to have a bible teacher in your home while you study. I personally like to study a variety of bible versions at one time in my own devotion time. I like to have several open to the same passage to help me compare each and all the notes that are provided. It has helped tremendously having the video teaching as well. If you want to watch a video, you can. If you prefer to study the questions and read for yourself, you do that as well. 

Each principle is highlighted in a blue section on the page that is near the scripture it is referring too. You can see that in the picture below.

Another very cool feature to these principles is that while you're reading, there are sections that refer back to a previous principle mentioned before. For example, while reading in Luke chapter 19 verse 45-47, there are blue notes to refer you back to a principle in Isaiah. You can see how the scripture is all woven together and how each lesson is shown throughout the word itself.

I know there are of us that prefer King James over anything else. I find myself leaning more towards ESV these days as it seems the closest to the King James but in easier to understand English. However, the CSB is a great option as well for those who are new believers or those who need help understanding. It is easy to read and understand for all ages. The CSB was created to stay faithful to the original writings of scripture while giving you clarity at the same time. However, I would never tell you which version you should choose to go with. I highly suggest you research the options out there and choose the one you feel the most confident in. 

You need to understand what you're reading as well as have the closest thing to the original as you possibly can.

Day-By-Day Chronological Bible Review and GIVE AWAY!!

Welcome! So glad you stopped by! Today we're going to talk about an amazing opportunity I have had to check out a new bible release of the Day by Day Chronological Bible in CSB, Christian Standard Bible, format. So, what is a Chronological Bible? Basically, it is a bible that puts the books of the bible and stories that we all know and love in chronological order. You probably know most of the stories and have possibly even read the entire bible. However, this option puts it all in chronological order of how it happened. So you're not going to have your traditional order here. It is going to seem to jump around all while tying the beautiful story of God and His love for you in a timeline.

The bible offers a 52 week reading schedule that takes you through the entire Bible in a year if you follow their schedule. While most chronological versions start on January 1st and end Dec 31st, this bible doesn't have a set date to start. You can start at any point through the year and read on your schedule.

So, what is Christian Standard Bible Version?
This version of the bible was written by 100 scholars from various denominations with the intent to make the bible easily understood. The focus was to draw readers in to a deeper relationship with God while not changing anything about what the original Word says. The bible is structured in different acts such as you would have in a play or theater production you're watching. Each act has scenes that goes throughout the story of God. For example, you'll have a week and a day of the week to read a various set of scripture passages, each building on the ones previous to that day's reading.

With this easy to understand translation and reading plan, you can read through the entire bible in 52 weeks. This can help you to stay focused, understand how the Word all ties together, and see the story of creation, God's love and redemption plan all fitting perfectly and seamlessly together.

Last year was the first year that I have ever read through the entire bible, ever. In my life. I read a chronological bible plan on my phone app and it really helped me tie things together. It was honestly eye opening to see how all these stories intertwine together and how the same stories are shared in multiple places in the bible. It helps to remind us that no matter what we're facing, God is always there and works for our good.

If you've hung around here long enough, you know that we love to cook and my hubby is the "Grillmaster". We love trying out new recipes and new gadgets to make that even easier to do! Gadgets not only make your life easier, they are also fun to incorporate into the kitchen. Cave Tools: Shish Kabob Barbeque Skewers Review

Recently I got the chance to check out the newest addition to Cave Tools. They are now offering a fantastic Shish Kabob Barbeque Skewer set that is a must-have for anyone who loves to grill and loves their unique shish kabob recipes.

These 10" skewers are made of high quality stainless steel and come with 10 skewers in the package. They are each individually wrapped and secured so that you're careful when you take them out of the box. They are quite sturdy and easy to clean as they are dishwasher safe. If your children are anything like my son, they love to paint. I love letting him be creative, but let's face it. Paint can get messy and it gets everywhere. No matter what we try to do to stop it, it goes all over the place. Thankfully, with these new paint sticks, that's not a problem any longer!!

These amazing products are solid tempura paint that are easily uncapped. They do not run all over the place. They go where your child puts it and that's it. There's no water to wash off the brushes making an even bigger mess. We received two pencil grips to check out. I honestly have to say my son took one right away and ran away with it. So I had to catch the one I could while I could. These are made of great quality and are nice and comfortable to hold your pencils. I am one who tends to squeeze my pencil way too tight so this has helped to keep my fingers from getting too sore. There's a wide variety of colors available to fit your kiddos personality.

The Pencil Grip, Inc. offers a variety of grips to choose from. There's the original, pinch grip, crossover and the jumbo grip. If you're teaching your child how to write and hold their pencil correctly, there is a three step process.  The first step is the crossover grip. Once they have worked with that one awhile, they move up to the pinch grip and then finally to the original grip. By learning how to hold their pencil properly, it can help prevent some of those bad writing habits that can cause your child to have painful experiences.

Perfect Gifts For The Holiday Season !!

I have honestly tried several grinders before and they never hold up to our use. This one, however, does! It was a strong, sturdy grinder that has been used during our regular use, and for our recent holiday dinner. Everyone who has used it loves it! ZooBoo Review!!!

Remember I mentioned heading to Lowry Park Zoo for their Halloween event? Well it's time to share that with you now!

We went this past weekend as it was opening weekend for the event. I have to say my kiddo is more interested in the animals themselves than candy, but for those looking for a safe, fun trick or treat event, this is it! 

The event runs on the weekends from 1 p.m. until 7 p.m. You're kiddos can ride all the rides, see the animals, trick or treat, and work on fun things such as decorating cookies and painting pumpkins. There's even a slightly spooky maze, which isn't really spooky, so you're safe to enjoy it. 

As you walk in the zoo you'll hear some of your favorite spooky tunes such as Thriller, Monster Mash and more. There's a dance area for events that take place in the evening and lots of fun and exciting adventures awaiting you. Of course while you're there you must stop by and see all the animals at this over 50 acre zoo. One of my son's favorites was this guy. Isn't he/she amazing???

Around the children's area with the rides is where you'll find all the fun ZooBoo activities. On your way you can stop and take some photos of your kiddo in costume. To be honest, it was close to 90 degrees on the day we went so Boo Bear didn't dress up. There were plenty of fairies, pirates, and cute bumblebees around though!

When you enter the children's area you'll also find some great photo opps with some of the characters at the zoo. We met a queen and a pirate!

We rode the Tiger roller coaster that is perfect for your little guys. We also rode on the carousel, strolled through the plains of Africa, and went to all the neat trick or treat booths around. Guess what? Parents are allowed to get candy as well! 

There were all sorts of fun and exciting decorations around the zoo like these guys who were singing the whole the time. 

If you have a season pass or if you're just looking for something fun to do with the kids, you definitely should check out the Lowry Park ZooBoo fest! Family friendly costumes are welcome for all the kiddos age 11 and under. You'll find a variety of activities waiting for all ages and booths along the way to help mom and dad enjoy the day as well.

Oh by the way, when you're there, stop by and see this guy. He seems to be concentrating quite hard and will have a staring contest with you.
