We have had a great weekend spending time with family. It started out a great weekend on Friday night. :) Our town has a very old movie theater that they are trying to save. With all the new theaters taking over not many people take the time to go down town and experience this old landmark. Well due to them trying to keep it open they are having great promos for the new movies coming out. Well Friday was a promo for the new Transformers 3 movie. We have not seen the movie yet but my son absolutely loves Transformers and who can miss Bumblebee on display?? So we braved the thunderstorms hoping that the square would be free of rain.
We arrived and dressed up my son. He was in full Bumblebee attire as they were having a costume contest.
This is what he looked like... (Thanks to local paper for this awesome shot)
Well as we rounded the corner people started shouting and clapping. Boo Bear was the only child who decided to dress up. Needless to say after a lot of attention and lots of picture taking he won the grand prize contest. Here are some great shots of him and his fan fare that day. He came home with a nice {huge} new Bumblebee toy and has been playing all weekend with it. He also made the front page the next day with his picture of he and the Mayor together.
We had a great time grilling out yesterday with family and today just resting and relaxing. Real life gets back into swing tomorrow as Mimi and Papa have to head home. What will we do... ;) I hope you all have had a wonderful and safe 4th of July. Thank you to all the Soldiers and their families for the sacrifices they make so that my family can enjoy this beautiful summer day. Blessings to you and yours! How did you celebrate?
Yeah for Boo Bear! That costume seriously rocks! Of course here in Canada, July 1st is our party day, and I also took my 2 older kids to the old theatre in our little town to see Cars 2. The rest of the weekend was pretty much the same as a 4th of July -- grilling, swimming and hanging out with friends and family, topped off with fantastic fireworks. Happy July 4th to you!
