Sixty Minute Shakespeare Review and Giveaway!

** This is a MamaBuzz review. The product was provided by Five Star Publications for this review.  All opinions are mine.**

Shakespeare was always one of my favorite reads in school. I loved it when we would start a play. While it is hard to understand at times, going through with a class was so exciting! Whether you have read the book or not I am sure you are familiar with many of the quotes from his famous plays. You may not realize where they came from, but you know them. From Romeo and Juliet to Julius Cesar these are timeless classics that we should pass on to our children and theirs.

I got the opportunity to review and take a look at A Midsummer Night's Dream. This was one of my favorites of Shakespeare's work. There are many themes that can be found through out this story that fit into things we have to deal with today. The 60 Minute Shakespeare series is a great option for those who want to read his plays and writings but do not have the time to invest in the full versions. These are a great asset to have for those who homeschool or who teach in a classroom. With great ideas for stage setup and directions on how to get started you can put on your own play. I know for myself in high school I was a little overwhelmed by the language. Although I enjoyed the plays and the discussions it was hard to understand without someone helping. These series of books are a great way to introduce Shakespeare to your students and to help them understand the language and the times he lived in. There are places for your notes and for you to put in your ideas for the stage setup.

Put out by Five Star Publications you can purchase the books individually for $8.99 or you can buy the whole set for $45.89. You can check them out here on their Facebook or Twitter pages.

  2. It's tough to choose a favorite. How about a tie between Hamlet and MacBeth?

  3. Hamlet and King Lear are my favorites. As a former English teacher, it was hard to get kids into Shakespeare because of the language. These books would be a great asset for a teacher. Great giveaway! Of course, I "Like" Our Journey on Facebook and follow your blog. :D
