Weekly Wrapup

The Homeschool Mother's Journal In my life this week... It has been a wild week of emotions and ideas and thoughts... We have been mulling over whether to move or stay or what. So we are now... staying ;) I was out voted. My hubby and son want to stay where we are. I like my house... Don't get me wrong... I do... I wanted to be closer to town for convenience and gas reasons. BUT my hubby answered that with getting me a more fuel efficient car today. LOL SO we are staying here and I have a nice new vehicle.

In our homeschool... We worked more on measuring items and had fun playing with paperclips and a ruler. We read some more Dr. Seuss and started a new Magic Tree House book. We have almost finished up the Charlie Bone audio books and will be in search for new ones. Working on finding curriculum for next year... Not sure what to use but kind of investigating it now.

Questions/thoughts I have... I am wondering what to do for 1st grade. For Kindergarten we have just basically had a modge podge mixture of all types of things. I feel for next year {mainly for me} we need a little more structured path. Not sure yet... I have looked at Timberdoodle's first grade full curriculum. Has anyone ever used things from there? Do you like it/not like it? What are your thoughts?

I'm cooking... Stuff from Pinterest. I love this site. I love sitting and just pinning happily away and cooking new things. Are you on Pinterest? If so come by and follow me and I'll follow back. I love getting homeschool tips and this is one great way to do it.

I'm reading... I am on hold for The Hunger Games at the library. I am waiting for that to come to me. I am now reading a book called Vampire Stalker. Yes.. I like to read different stuff and this is a young adult teen book... It is an easy and quick read. LOL I like it so far. I also started readying the first one in the Percy Jackson series to check those out too. Not sure I want to let Boo Bear listen./read these quite yet but we will see how it goes.

Picture from this week... Working hard ;-)

  1. Woohoo! A new car! I'm fairly satisfied with what we're doing for first grade, (Some Abeka, SOTW, RSO, some VP). Hard to believe it's time to start thinking of next year already!
