Week In Review

So I miss writing reviews of our week. I used to do it all the time while homeschooling and will start that back up when/if we go back. Yes, we are talking about it. :) I think I "ruined" my kiddo on homeschooling vs. not homeschooling. But we will get to that in a minute.

This week I started trying out my new grocery budget plan. I am working on a new goal this year and have a few things I need/want to save up for. So I am trying something new for me. I wrote out a menu and bought for that and working with my new grocery budget. Do you use a specific budgeting tool? I am considering the envelope system since it seems to work to begin with. When the envelope is empty, there's no money for that activity. Simple as that.

Here's what our week looked like for meals:

Monday - Lasagna
Tuesday - BBQ Meatballs
Wednesday - French's Onion Chicken
Thursday - Chili and Jalapeno Cornbread (grain free and really good)
Friday - Leftovers

I did learn that my hubby can sabotage my menu if I left him. The only thing he requested was the chili and almond cornbread we did. I didn't mind since I had to take the kiddo to get a haircut anyway. I just know I need to ask him before I shop if there's anything he requests for the week. ;-)

Boo Bear's school week seemed to go pretty well. He is really wanting to come back to homeschool. He is not happy going and would rather be doing it here. He does not like going a lot which is totally opposite of what I used to be at his age. If the word GO was said, I was right there and ready. Him? Not so much. The teachers all say he seems happy and is doing well but Mama knows the other side of the coin ;-). So please, if you can remember, say a prayer for us as we make another huge decision for our family. Things wouldn't change that much from what they are now and we both want to go back to homeschool. Just keep us in your prayers that we follow where God wants us to be.

The picture up above is when I took him to celebrate his report card. 5 A's and 2 B's. I thought that was pretty amazing for a kiddo learning a whole new way of living. :)

I am working on the Blue and Gold banquet for our Cub Scouts, a new writing project starting this week, work at the church and the house. Of course I am also gearing up for homeschool... Just in case ;)

So what did your week look like? Are you ready for the weekend? Thanks for stopping by and hope you have a blessed weekend!

  2. I will pray for you! I hope you get the right answer on whether or not to go back to homeschooling! Sounds like he is doing well, though. I bet you miss him!

  3. We have the app Good Budget which is an envelope type budget tracking. It is nice because both my husband and I can see the information.
