This week we are doing a summer blog hop. My focus is on creative cooking in the kitchen. We will be talking about some easy, fun recipes that you can take to your end of summer parties or gatherings. These are recipes I have tried out and that my family love. We enjoy these at different times of the year but they are easy to do in the summer when you just do not want to heat up the kitchen. If you will click the image above you will find a world full of wonderful tips, tricks and interesting reads this week.
I got this recipe from the blog at The Sweets Life. It is an awesome little treat for an appetizer, dessert whatever!
Ingredients:
- 1 LB of Strawberries
- 8 oz Cream Cheese, softened ( I used the 1/3 less fat version)
- 3-4 TBSP Powdered Sugar - if you want it sweeter go with four.
- 1 TSP Vanilla
- Graham Cracker Crumbs ( I cheated and bought the package of the crackers already into crumbs. That was so easy!!)
First rinse your strawberries and cut the green off. You can then take a little paring knife and create a hole in the strawberry. Some of the berries will already have the little hole and others you will have to make a small one. In a bowl mix together you cream cheese, powdered sugar and vanilla until creamy. Place this in a ziploc mixing bag or a cupcake icing utensil to squirt the cream cheese into the strawberries. Dip the strawberries into the graham cracker crumbs. Sit back. Pop on in your mouth and enjoy!!! Be sure to save some for the rest of your guests/family, friends or feel free to hide them away. These can be made the night before your party. I made them the day before and they didn't last... :) This is something your children can easily work with you on and help make. Depending on their age, they can do this by themselves with your supervision. This is a great little treat to have around for your next summer party, not back to school party or other events! They are sure to be a hit! :-)
Be sure to come back all week so you can see great recipes here and also check out the other blogs. There are 90 bloggers with awesome information to share!!! Be sure to click below for some more wonderful blogs :)
Sounds delicious and looks easy to make!
