Weekly Review: Fun Times...

**Stop by the Veggie Tales Giveaway I have going on right now. There's still time to enter before this weekend!**

{I'm linking up with Weird Unsocialized Homeschoolers, Our 4 Kiddos and Homegrown Learners}

And, we're back! We took our first break a week or so ago since we changed up our schedule this year. This week we were more on track than the previous one. It's crazy how taking a break can be the hardest thing to come back from. But, we did it and now, here's how our week went.

We started multiplication tables this week full on. We have touched them a little bit in 1st and 2nd grade but now the memorization comes in. Boo Bear is doing awesome with this new concept. He is a great math kid and far better than me sometimes. :-) I'm glad he has a proficiency with numbers. I also love how he works on them. When he's doing some memorizing, this is how he works.

I love that about homeschool. He doesn't have to sit still in his chair. He can get up and move while I'm quizzing him on the facts.

We also started similes and metaphors in our Winning With Writing this week. I have to say I love all three of our language arts curriculums from this company. He has flourished and is enjoying it. Don't you love when you're sitting around the dinner table, your Dad says something and your son pops up, that's an indirect quotation Papa! I love those Ah Ha moments.

We also started Science class back this week. The theme is Simple Machines this month. He came home with a small catapult that he built in class. He's been flinging ping pong balls around since. I wonder what next week will hold?

We are slowly getting back into the swing of things. Which I had hoped would speed up some but, today is a field trip day. Our aquarium offers homeschool day pricing and so we are going to enjoy the day learning about the sea, river and lakes around the world.

Oh, and of course we had to celebrate National Coffee Day around here too. That's everyday but... you know that right?

So how was your week? Did you get a lot accomplished or was it a little slower? I hope you have a great weekend and don't forget to check out my giveaway linked up at the top. It's for the new Veggie Tales DVD and I'm sure you'll love it!
