Week in Review: Mind Blown!!

Happy Friday! Wahoo! We made it another week. Course I had my doubts there a day or two that I would, but... here we are! We had another crazy busy week adding in another class and it went well for the most part. It's always nice when you can find the rhythm that works for your family.

In school this week we had some new subjects added in for reviews we are working on. One of the new programs is learning geography by learning how to draw the USA. This one is a huge hit so far. We worked on the state of Maine this week and he's doing well with it.

We worked on the chapter about our respiratory system in science this week. This is one that is near and dear to us as Boo Bear has some major allergies and asthma issues at times. We are learning about how our lungs work and what is causing some of his issues. It really helps us both to know what's going on.

We are moving right along in math, reading, spelling, and in grammar. Thankfully this week has been a pretty good week for school. I do believe we need a few days off so I've given him yesterday and possibly today off from all schoolwork. We honestly never stopped during the summer so we could use the break.

In our reading we added in a new review product from Progeny Press. We are doing a unit study on the Stone Fox book and it's going well so far. Boo Bear seems to like the book and I'm excited to share the unit study information with you later on.

So for the title up above. You see those words mind blown? Yep. Those two. It happened this week. I know that my son has talent in drawing as I've seen some of his projects. I know it comes straight from his dad too because I certainly have none. ;). But this art project he did this week. WOW! I honestly asked him when I walked in to pick him up did he draw that? I felt bad for my surprise in it but I was shocked! Take a look and tell me what you think about it. .

They were learning about shading and this is what he drew. I'm so proud of him and can't wait to see the other projects that come about from this class.

In extra classes  he started his theater class up this week. I'm kind of playing this one as a wait and see. He seems to enjoy the class. I don't know if I'm going to like the schedule but I want him to have an outlet for his theatrical side. He's quite a little actor and has always been that way. So, this is a first for us having the class throughout the school year. We shall see!

As for me I put our new menu plan into action and it went well. The only night we strayed was when Daddy decided to grill last night instead of tonight. But that's okay. We ate every single dinner at home this week. Even with a crazy schedule! I also had a review out this week and you can look for another one next week. For the next couple of months you'll see lots of awesome stuff shared here!!

I'm looking forward to a much slower weekend hopefully. At least that's the plan anyway. So how was your week? Did you do lots of fun projects or field trips? I'd love to see what you did! I'm linking up today with Weird Unsocialized Homeschoolers.
