So Blessed

Happy Monday to you!!! I hope you had a lovely weekend. We had another great one and some awesome cool fall weather come thru. My oh my I do love this time of year. Saturday we spent a beautiful day at the park with some new and some old friends. We had a great time. It's been sooooo long since I have sat at the park for three hours ( yes, I said three) and just let my son play and I had girl chat time. It was such a refreshing day. We used to do that a lot but we started homeschooling, friends moved away and well... life happened. :) It was much needed and much appreciated. It just goes to show you how life changes and stages are always happening. I am trying to realize we are constantly moving stages in our life and some friends will go with us through all of them and some do not as often as we like.

I have to share that we feel we have finally found a church home we can call home. We went this Sunday and it was awesome yet again. I already feel like home ;) . I have been searching and praying for one where we all enjoyed and they had things for children to do. This one seems to do both of those wonderfully. I am praying that if this is where God wants us to be we continue feeling this way. It is a blessing and a wonderful thing to have a church home.

What is up your sleeve for the week? We have our usual and then some. This week starts a lot of the fall festivals at the library, church and nursing home we enjoy. :) Hope you have a wonderful week and remember to thank God for your many blessings today and everyday!

Monday Moments: Progress and Changes

Happy Labor Day Monday to ya! Things here are starting to get back to normal. We had to let Charlie go live with Nana and Poppy this weekend. I think things for him will be much better and things will be much calmer for us. I hated to let him go but sometimes you have to do that. You have to take care of the dog as much as your family. So we are back to a one dog family and will most likely stay that way until this hound dog crosses over the rainbow bridge.

In weight loss progress I am seeing some changes. I am super excited because my experiment is working. Okay, not really an experiment but my plan. I already knew it would but it just proved to me this weekend that it does. I am eating very limited carbs because 1) I am a type 2 diabetic and it's better for me and 2) I can tell such a huge difference in my energy and my body when I do. Eating the right carbs is critical. I found that out this weekend. Last week I was doing wonderful and actually having to force myself to eat something. This weekend I made Zuchinni Banana Bread(recipe coming tomorrow) and had that for breakfast on Saturday. Bad idea... When I eat carbs like that in the mornings it seems to set me on a bad eating plan all day. It makes me want to eat all day long. So I have discovered ( already knew but had to prove it to myself) that eating low carb/high fiber items for breakfasts make my days go much smoother and less hungry feeling. So that's my discovery for the weekend ;) I lost .4 pounds this week so that is good. A small loss but nonetheless a loss. I also started the C25K program again this weekend. Hopefully I can get through it this time but we will have to see how my knees let me do. I am doing this so I am ready for the 5K I am walking in for Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk in November. BTW if you would like to you can stop by and make a donation to the team I am on. It goes straight to the American Cancer Society and it is very easy!!

We are taking a relaxing Monday today and back to school tomorrow. Hope you have a wonderful week ahead and a great Labor Day!!!

Monday Goals

Well today has been flying by me very fast. I didn't realize it was even lunch time till a friend posted something about it on Facebook. Hummm... I have done some work this morning and worked on getting Boo Bear signed up for the virtual school here. Frustrated there because I had to call in to find out why the papers I already sent were saying they didn't have them. Questions answered and now I have a few things to take care of to get all that finished up.

Not sure what my goals are today. I have cleaned some of the house, done laundry and a few odds and ends. I have rearranged the living room but that wasn't on my goal list for last week. :) LOL The homeschool room is cleaned back up and ready to have company this week and start to school. I am guessing my kitchen will have to wait for another time. ;o) But that is okay. While I have really enjoyed my down time I do miss my little guy. This is what he has been up to lately

Can you tell he is having fun? Course he does miss his mama.. :) I heard all about that yesterday. He comes home this week so we are both excited.

What are your big plans for this July 4th weekend? Any great celebrations or do you and your family just rest at home? Not sure what we will get into here but maybe something...

Have a great week and share your goals with me! I like to hear how others are making progress on their goals. It inspires me!

Monday Momentum...

Good Monday Morning to you! :o) My little guy is happily visiting his grandparents for a while. So today I have to figure out what to do with myself! ;o) I am thinking of lots of projects I want to get started and I am not sure where to start. I also want to spend some me time just hanging around and maybe window shopping.

One project I will be doing is tackling the homeschool room. We will most likely {read hopefully} be doing the Connections Academy this fall so I want everything ready and in it's place so when the curriculum comes in we have everything ready. I thought it was organized but since we are making this change we will be working on the room.

My kitchen is another area I want to work on. Now these are my Monday goals and hopes.. ;o) So I will try to post pictures or details of the progress this week.

Do you have any problem areas you are going to work on this summer? How do you get started and what tips can you share? I would love to hear how you are doing!

Monday's Goals

I hope you had a fabulous weekend. We had a very restful and relaxing one here. We mainly just hung out around home with church on Saturday night. We enjoyed the down time. This week will be busy with school and eye doctor appointment for Boo Bear. I am so glad he is getting up ready to do school work. I did have to tell him that he didn't have to do full school on Saturday and Sundays. ;o)

I lost a little this past week! Wahoo! I am trying. I got an iPhone this past weekend. I am so excited and I can track my food now no matter where I am. I am learning it slowly and surely so if you have any favorite apps let me know! My goal for this week is to lose at least a pound. I would love for more but a pound works for me.

Boo Bear is doing so well with his reading words and school. I am very proud of him. He has been working hard and loving it too. We may be reading small books before I thought we were. This week's goal for school is just to continue on the path we were last week. Working on items like our 2nd Unit of reading words, a few math items and some Father's day cards and gifts. I did go ahead and make out lesson plans for this week. I didn't the week before because I was going to give him a break but he didn't want it. LOL So this week we are going on some lesson plans and it will be much easier to track.

For you homeschooling mama's out there, what planners do you use? Are you a computer planner or do you need something tangible? I tend to want both, more the tangible in my hands planner though. I would love to hear from you!

Monday Goals

Good Monday Morning to you! Well looking back at the week my goals kind of worked, kind of didn't. *sigh* I do well with my tracking for a few days and then something knocks me off the wagon soooooo... I am starting back today tracking again. Hopefully I can have progress this week with losing instead of gaining or staying the same. We will see...

This week starts our first official week of summer! Super excited to relax and let the days go as they will. Of course we will have some sort of structure as we are trying to get into our homeschool routine but we will see how that goes. I have some great ideas for things we can do around here that I got from a fellow homeschooler.

We had a blast yesterday picking blueberries at a local u pick farm. We got 4 pounds of blueberries! I have already made muffins and am going to be freezing some. My little guy can eat these all day if we would let him. ;o)

I am also starting 21 Days of Prayers  this week. There is still time to join if you want to learn how to pray for your sons and really dig into the word for your boys. I can't wait!

What are you goals this week? Have any summer plans for the first official week? Hope you have a great Monday and a Great first week of Summer!!!

I am having too much fun...

This is one of my favorite pictures of Boo bear. He was standing at Ft. Desoto just enjoying the beach water. He loves the beach just like his momma. :o) I am just playing around with the new photo editing software and I am by no means knowledgeable about it. I just like making them look pretty {or what I think looks good}. How is your Monday goal setting going? I have created a new schedule for us here at home. I have been thinking of ways to help my little guy get ready for a full day of school next year. {I told you I was a planner} I want him to be as prepared as possible and hope this works out. We will try this plan out and see how it goes. Hope you have a wonderful Monday!
Be Blessed!

Goals, Results From Last Week, Looking to the Future. :)

Well, today is my birthday. :o) I am celebrating the anniversary of my ___ birthday. LOL ;o) Seriously I have been blessed this weekend with lots of love and wishes. I am blessed everyday with the friends and family that God has given me. I am looking forward to a smoked pork loin that my hubby is fixing for dinner tonight. yumm Yummm

This is the adventure we had yesterday...

We got to meet Sir Toppham Hat and...

Thomas was there too! :o) We had a blast riding on Thomas the train and seeing all the Thomas stuff. {Whoever thought Thomas up is a bazillionaire now LOL } We had a nice Saturday out.

Well results from last week's goals were somewhat reached. I found a few great deals and got a lot of writing done. I also lost a few ounces. Not the pound I was looking for but a loss none the less. :o)

So this week I will be working on writing more, trying to lose that full pound and getting the house organized. This week's zone for Flylady is the Main Bathroom and Laundry room. I have had to add storage to my laundry room because of building my stockpile. We will see how this goes.

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend and a great week ahead. Be Blessed and count your blessings! :o)

Monday Goal Setting

Okay so this is a new week, in a new month. Think it is time to set some goals for the month and the week. I am on Weight Watchers new program and enjoying it. I hope to lose at least 1 pound this week. Last week I was up a few ounces so want to see a loss this week. I also have to get some article writing done and want to post a blog at least once a day all week. I then want to browse through some more great blogs from the UBP! If you haven't found out about that check out my post here. I also want to see what great deals I can find this week if there are any out there I just can't live without. LOL

Today will be sort of busy with Boo Bear being out of school and having his assessment. Also got some housework to do too. LOL I need to do some Spring Cleaning as well. Have you already started on yours? What tips do you have to share with other mommies on your spring cleaning ideas? I would love to hear how you guys get your start.

Be Blessed and have a wonderful start to the new week.
