We had a slower week this week than last week. It was very much needed and I'm feeling better about being balanced with our progress. I'm working on our plan of action for school this year as there are several more field trips, new outings and adventures coming our way. So here's a look at how our week went.
I shared 6 Essentials to make our homeschool work. Without these items, I don't know how we could do it. One of those main ones being our faith. Anybody else have those days you hide in the bathroom to cry and pray a little while?
We had lunch with a great lady from our church this week too. We are planning our Trunk or Treat outreach this year and she's done it longer than I can count. She had great wisdom and ideas to share. I love how God places those people in your life that can feed into it and help you grow...
I also took Boo Bear to vote with me. It was the preliminaries and I am trying to teach him why we vote. I was always taught, if you don't vote, you can't fuss about who is in office. :) That's what I'm trying to pass to him. We talked about praying for our leaders, no matter who is in office and how they get where they are. We checked out books from the library on voting in leaders and of course, he found one on real spies.
We learned about ordinal numbers and Roman numerals this week in math. My hubby asked about it saying the only time he uses them is to figure out what Superbowl we are in. (hahah) It is neat refreshing myself on those and hopefully I can retain it?
Our curriculums are still working beautifully. I am so glad we found something that works for us. I am very proud of his reading he's doing and how much he's improving. We are working on the Franny K. Stein series for his quiet reading right now.
Oh and one thing I look forward to all year is starting this week .:) Football! Wahoo! Sorry, I'm a Bama girl and I look forward to this time of year. Pumpkin spice everything, cooler days and Alabama football games.
We are ready to cheer on our team! Do you enjoy football?
I'm linking up this week with Homegrown Learners, Our4Kiddos and :
Thanks for linking! We were learning about Roman Numerals this week, too!
ReplyDeleteThanks for hosting! It's funny how most of us are learning near the same things ;)
Deletehehe on the Superbowl comment - my hubby would say the same. Enjoy your holiday weekend.
ReplyDelete:-) I giggled when he said that and I totally understand it. I hope you enjoy your weekend as well!
DeleteOne fun thing about reading other homeschooler's weeks is reminders of things I want to work on with my kids.
