I've mentioned before how much we love audio books in this house. We've listened to so many over the years I couldn't even count them. We recently had the chance to check out a new to us series from The Brinkman Adventures and their Season 3 CD set. The Brinkmans are a large family that go on wild adventures based on true stories in these audio drama sets. These stories portray adventures the family has tied in with amazing missionaries they meet along the way. You learn about some amazing true life Christian Heroes of the day and giggle a little a long the way as well.
What we received and what we thought:
We received season 3 of this amazing audio missionary drama series. There are 12 separate episodes and you gain over five hours of adventures to listen to. We received the physical CD set so we take these in the car with us on the go. We have several classes we drive to so it's fun to have something new and exciting to listen to.
We listened to a variety of the stories and each one had an amazing tale of how God worked things out for the missionaries, even when you're not sure how it will work. One of our favorites was about a missionary who lost his family due to their unbelief in what he was doing. He went on to deliver thousands of bible's to countries where it is illegal to have one. God worked the episodes out to where he was able to get in with the bibles and get back out without trouble.
Of course, if you want to know how he did that, what happened with his family, and how many bible's he delivered, you gotta take a listen! Another favorite of mine was where one little girl earned her courage to speak up and speak out for a cause she believed in. It was a wonderful tale of Operation Christmas Child and you've got to listen to that one too!
My son was really interested in these stories and he asked me were they true. This led off to a great discussion for us on what Missionaries face every day of their lives. We talked about God's calling on their lives and how we can be missionaries in our own world.
We really enjoyed listening to these adventures and we have some real favorites of our own. They are all amazing and I would highly recommend this to any family who loves the audio drama and missionary stories for kids.
The Brinkman Adventures Season 3 would make a great addition to any road trip, drive around town, or daily listening activity you could think of. The stories are full of adventure, life lessons, and encouragement that God is moving in the world around us.
